COLLECTOR is an audio visual installation/performance work whereby artists Birse and Kavanagh collect audio samples en route to Regina and rearrange them into and immersive audio/video environment.

Laura Kavanaugh and Ian Birse have been collaborating since 1997 on projects involving improvised and composed audio/video in immersive environments. In performance their audio work uses live sampling, mic and mixer feedback, voice, contact pickups, and effects. The video work deals with the transformation of recently shot and edited footage, using the real-time manipulation tools VDMX, Isadora, and MAX/Jitter.
