Neutral Ground invites artists to submit proposals for exhibitions, projects or performance in all media including performance, installation and new media. Neutral Ground will present gallery exhibitions, performance art, screenings, digital projects, readings, talks and offñsite projects. The gallery and media lounge with project space are the physical and critical spaces supported for a range of projects and investigations. We invite proposals from independent curators and programmers for gallery exhibitions or projects, group shows or net.art.
Neutral Ground is an artistñrun centre organized to support artists and curators in all stages of their development, through presentation, production & development of contemporary, visual art in all media while encouraging collaborations among the disciplines. Projects that support the development of local artists are emphasized. Proposals are accepted on an ongoing basis. Artists are limited to one solo exhibition in a three year period. Work that has been shown previously in Regina will not be eligible.
Submissions should include:
- A current resume or curriculum vitae.
- Ten to twenty slides of current work or work intended for exhibition. Slides must be numbered and labelled with the artist's name.
- A numbered slide list indicating the year, size and medium of each slide, statement about the work and an exhibition proposal.
- Additional support material such as reviews and catalogues, if available. Video support material should be on 1/2 VHS and we operate in a Mac environment.
- A self-addressed stamped envelope if you wish the submission returned.
We support artists through the payment of artist and copyright fees, according to the guidelines established by CAR/FAC. Neutral Ground provides installation assistance, documentation and insurance for works while in the gallery. Works that are for sale in the gallery receive the benefit of an 20/80 split on commission. Exhibitions are promoted through the design, printing and mailing of invitations, press releases, art publication advertisements, exhibition publications, gallery tours, archival documentation and a well managed Web site. Projects that are based on or that have a significant digital component are welcome.
