Introduction

From July 6 - 31, 2004, Neutral Ground will be hosting Archaeological, its fourth mini-festival of performance art. Featuring performances by local and guest artists, the festival presents a variety of works based on interpretive strategies, processes and methodologies used in the field and science of archaeology.

The events begin at 8:00 pm on Friday, July 9 with Québecois artist Diane Landry's performance, La Morue (The Cod). Visitors to the gallery will have a chance to witness the first part of Rob Bos' performance installation Covered, which takes place from July 6 - 31. The following day, Landry will present a talk about her work in her native French language. On Tuesday, July 13, Regina based artist John Noestheden will begin his week-long performance Speaking Infinity in the Frederick W. Hill mall area. A panel discussion and reception/party will take place on Saturday, July 17th, when Neutral Ground will launch its newest publication Boilersuits for Primates by former Regina artist Bill Burns, and the second part of Rob Bos' Covered begins. The festival concludes on Saturday, July 24, with local performance art collective One Night Only's newest work, North West Quarter, Section 18, Township 17, Range 19, West of the 2nd Meridian, and barbecue on Wascana Park's Willow Island.
